Crispy Piyala Chaat

Ingredients

Chickpeas:      ½ kg (soaked overnight) 
Red lentils:      ½ kg 
Turmeric powder:      1 tsp 
Potatoes (diced):      2 
Salt:      to taste 
Oil:      for frying 
Roll strips:      for serving 

Ingredients for green chutney: 
Fresh Coriander:      ½ bunch 
Mint:      ½ bunch 
Green chillies:      6 
Tamarind pulp:      ½ cup 
Sugar:      2 tbsp 
Salt:      to taste 

Ingredients for garnishing: 
Onions (chopped):      ½ cup 
Tomatoes:      ½ cup 
Fresh Coriander (chopped):      ½ cup 
Yogurt(beaten):      1 cup 
Chat masala:      as required 



Recipy

1. Blend all Ingredients of special masala in blender.

2. Blend separately all ingredients for chutney in a blender.

3. Boil lentils, chickpeas, salt and turmeric in a pot until chickpeas become soft and lentils tender.

4. When water is nearly dry, add potatoes and cook for 2 minutes.

5. Heat oil in a work; place roll strip in sieve, press roll strip down with another sieve and immerse in work till fried golden; repeat process to make more crispy bowls.

6. Put chickpeas in fried bowls. 

7. Sprinkle chaat masala, yogurt, chutney, onions, tomatoes, fresh coriander and special chaat masala and serve
